Omoto fishing reels are not as well known as some other makes so tend to get overlooked but if you are on a tight budget they make excellent reels that are good value for money, and the Jungle range is no exception to this.

The Omoto Jungle 5000 is the mid range reel in the series but it shines when you come to use it for the first time. The Jungle reels have a corrosion resistant frame which helps to extend the lifespan of the reel when used with sea fishing, although this is no reason to overlook the reel maintenance. The frame and spool are both aluminium although it is quite a heavy reel compared to others.

The reels aren't without their critics, and some people just dont like them however when testing it performed admirably and proved to be a strong performer in a wide range of fishing including deep sea fishing. If you are still aren't sure but find the price attractive then consider it as a second, or a spare reel to get the feel for it.

Overall the reels are comparable to the Abu Garcia Ambassabeur range. Omoto fishing reels can sometimes be hard to track down, but they provide excellent reels at bargain prices which makes them good to have as the credit crunch hits.
